Light for Lives

Light for Lives

The Church of Scotland is encouraging people of all faiths and none to light a candle in remembrance of those who have passed away in the last year on the anniversary of the first lockdown on Tuesday 23 March 2021 at 7pm.

As we take time to reflect and remember, this ‘Light For Lives’ musical medley features much loved hymns which have brought, and will continue to bring, comfort, peace and inspiration, in equal measure, to generations past, present and future. We are thankful to Ron Swanson, organist at Hurlford Church, for sending us this recording.

Lord of light and life,

where there is darkness,

let your light shine, the light that brings new life.

As we remember those who have lost their lives,

we pray…let your light shine.

As we remember those who are left, whose lives have changed,

we pray…let your light shine.

As we remember these difficult times,

we pray…let your light shine on all of us and before us to see a way through and beyond.

Let your light shine on the whole of creation today,

tomorrow and forever.

In the name of Jesus who is light and life for all.
